Tires

Specifications & Make

Q. What is the brand of tires? What kind of tires do you use?

  1. All OMO Bikes tires are high quality nylon tires. These tires are procured from best of Indian Brands only and are 100% made in India. Some of the brands we work with are Ralson/ Ralso, Metro Tires, Hindustan tires etc.

Q. What is the difference between tires of different models?

  1. Thinner tires like 700x35c & 26” x 1.75 (or 1.95) are designed more for speed. Tires with thicker profile, that is, 26 x 2.125 (& 2.250, 3.00 & 4.00) are designed more for comfort to absorb the bumpy ride. However, the effort put to gain speed is higher in these tires.

Thinner Tires are used in urban sport & hybrid bicycles like Model 1.0, Model 1.7, Hampi series, Ladakh Series. Thicker tires are used in MTBs like Manali series.

Q. What tubes are used in OMO Bikes? Can i use any pump to fill air?

The tubes have long wavle to give perfect fit in double valve alloy wheels. The valve length is 40mm and the type of valve is schrader valve. Almost all pumps these days are designed for schrader valves. These valves are same as used in motorbikes tires.

Q. Can I modify to fat tires in my OMO Bikes.

  1. The maximum width that can fit in any OMO Bikes (Model 1, Hampi. Manali & Ladakh Series) is 2.350”. Any

tire thicker than this won’t fit in these model series. Fat tires generally range from 26*3.00 to 26*5.00, and

these wont fit in the bicycle frame or fork.

There seems to be a wobble in the tires of my bike. What should I do?
The tyres are sent along with the bike in which the rear one is assembled and the front one is not. After the assembly of the tyres we might feel that there is a wobble in the tyre. However there is always supposed to be a little bit of wobble in the new tyres which gets smooth as the tyre settled on rim. As we keep on riding the bike, in only a little bit of time frame the tyres get to normal shape and get adjusted properly and the wobble decreases gradually. After some time we will be able to see that there is no wobble in the tyre.
Also,  sometimes we can try deflate the tyres completely and then fill the air again. This should be done a couple of times, doing this will resolve the issue.

I measured the wheel size and it seems smaller than claimed. What should I do?
OMO Bikes has a couple of categories when it comes to the tyres of the bike. One comes with 26 inches while the other comes with 29 inches i.e. 700C. However sometimes rider feels that the wheel is not of the size which was promised. When it is measured using an inches tape it seems that the diameter of the wheel is small. However Measuring a wheel with inches tape is not the correct way to measure it. One should never use a tape to measure, as there is a professional way to measure the wheel of the bike.
The difference might be small when you see it from naked eyes as the there is only 1.5 inch difference in radius of 26 inch and 29 inch wheel but major difference will be observed in riding as bigger wheel size means better speed

Common Issues

Do i need to replace the tyre/tube if it is deflating after short intrervals?
This is a very rare case, when the tyres start getting deflated after a couple of rides. The customer may feel that the issue may be directly associated with the tube or the tyre and replacing it will resolve this issue however most of the times in such cases, the issues are generally the valve of the tube, which can lead to regular deflation in the tyres. The valve can be changed easily for approximately 5 inr.
